As it is for most everyone in the northern Mid-West, we got snow in Lexington in time for Easter. About 4:00 pm Friday a little blizzard came through Lexington and left 1/2 to 1 inch of snow. Saturday morning the snow was still on the ground.
Our church had planned an Easter egg hunt for Saturday. I was not certain there would be any turn-out at all. At noon we still had snow on the ground and the wind chill was about 25 degrees. However, we went to the park and setup our Easter egg hunt. To my surprise. we had a fair showing. We had more guests than church members. People started arriving about noon and our Easter egg hunt did not begin uptil 1:00 pm. There was another church that had promoted an Easter egg hunt in the park for 12 o'clock and many of the early visitors were looking for that hunt. (Later, I was told the other church postponed their Easter egg hunt.) We released the children for our hunt at 1:00 pm and it was over in about 15 minutes. Still we had time to speak with people before the starting time and Amanda & Katie did some face painting while we waited. Dispite the cold, I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
