Midweek Activity

Not too much is going on here. We putz around getting a few things done at a slow pace. I (Charlotte) went to the LAC by my self for the first time, which was a big step. My goal is to excercise more, so I know I need to go by myself since Jerry goes so early in the morning now. I started to take a walk this afternoon but as I passed Safyia's home, she was arriving home from the grocery store and invited me in to see how she bakes pita bread. So I spent some time with her instead. The Lord knows and this was the time He had for me to be with her.

This Sunday will be the first Sunday of the month, so our church will have a fellowship before the worship service. Jerry and I are responsible for refreshments. This time I can make coffee!!!

Charlotte here. Painting is done. The bedroom is now a deep moss green. Very different for us. We are working on the finishing touches which are never easy: New drapes, hanging pictures and putting things back where they should be, which may not be where they were before. Exciting.

We had visitors in church today. Pastor Steve knew that they were coming, so we had a carry in dinner for them. It worked fairly well. My Sunday School lesson was about kindness and one of the activities was to frost cookies for a treat. So we frosted cookies for lunch today. The boys were happy to contribute to the festivities. Then we made some little baskets with candies to give to our guests. The boys had to introduce themselves to the other children and learn thier names. They are so shy and sheltered that this was difficult for them, but they did it. It's amazing how the Lord works lessons just for days like this.

Let it snow!

Well we finally got some snow. I awoke Wednesday morning to 1/4 inch of snow. I had to take a picture before going to work, because I was afraid the snow would be gone by the time I got home, and it was. We have another chance for snow on Saturday night.

Mom has left for Girls of Grace. She thinks I am going to finish painting the bedroom, but instead I am doing this.

Sunday afternoon

Well, we never got any snow. It started raining about 6:00 am with a 31 degree temperature. So we got ice. Not bad. By 10:00 the temperature was 33 degrees. I did not experience any ice on the road surface.

We went to church. Afterwards we went to Jimmy John's with Pastor, Linda and Rob. We had a good time joking and laughing. There was no one else in the restaurant. Pastor mentioned watching the football games. Linda said she is voting for Indianapolis.

I think I am going to paint the bedroom.

Later

Early Sunday morning

We are expecting our first significant snowfall of the season. (We have seen no snow on the ground yet this year.) Charlotte woke-up at 4:15 and turned the TV on to the local 24/7 weather channel. They say the snow is coming, but it is not here yet. We could get 1 to 3 inches before it turns to rain this afternoon. I really do enjoy not having to wrestle with snow all winter long.

Charlotte and I are both teaching Sunday School this morning. I am going to put the finishing touches on my lesson.
